The Big Green Film of 2008

“America is addicted to oil…it’s time for an intervention.”

We’re not drilling our way out of planetary oil depletion, so we may as well get hip and get inspired to do something different before it’s too late. Join Josh Tickell in his revolution to change your fuel, change the world.

The house was packed on Sunday afternoon at the timely L.A. premiere of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival Best Documentary Audience  Award winning film, “Fuel”. Celebrities, environmentalists and the eclectic crowd that makes up the biodiesel (more…)

Shoes for tomorrow

Here’s a shoe company with a conscience, temporarily housed in a cottage on Abbot Kinney in Venice to showcase their shoes and their story.

Founded in 2006 by Blake Mycoskie, Toms Shoes, with their One for One program, gives a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair you purchase.

Founder, Blake Mycoskie, while on vacation in Argentina noticed impoverished children walking around with cuts and infections on their feet from walking miles every day without shoes to fetch water. He decided to start Toms, “shoes for (more…)

Recipes coming soon in my cookbook “Feel Good Guru (more…)

Rescue Ink - bad ass boys protecting your mutts

I saw these guys on the news last night. A woman in New York had lost her dog, or it had been stolen, and within 2 days, they were able to get pet and pet companion reunited.

These guys are gonna be huge. They’re a gang I can get behind. They’re a gang I wanna join, though they claim not to be a gang, vigilantes or a social organization.

They’re a big fat band of bald and tattooed bad asses doing good deeds for our (more…)

Artist life for sale

Haven’t you always dreamed of doing something else with your life? Quit your rat race and head for California where the weather’s fine and the livin’s easy? Haven’t you always admired people who do just that? Well, instead of being the one who envies, admires, says to themselves, “one day…” why not be the one envied and admired, the one who gives others hope, the one people come to to ask “how’d you do it?” Why not take that leap of faith?

We dreamers can relate to this: Artist John Robertson is selling his dream life in southern California for $280,000. (more…)
