It’s the end of July here in southern BC where I’m visiting friends before my great northern adventure and there’s a basil patch the size of Texas in their garden.
There are also some monster organic zucchinis taking over the world, and our other friends up the mountain gave us some incredible homegrown garlic…the perfect fresh-picked ingredients for Zucchini Linguini al Pesto.
Yes, it’s pesto season!!! The two vids below will show you how to make a fabulous vegan Hempseed Pesto and if you’re a raw freak (and who isn’t in this heat?) Zucchini Linguini. Enjoy! …and dig my Crocs;)

Yes — I’m about to make some basil pesto from basil I bought at the market and tomorrow’s menu includes zucchini-ini with pesto! BTW my foot specialist says crocs are the worst thing you can put on your feet.
dunno why your foot specialist is so down on crocs. they’re super comf. know someone who used to have plantar fasciitis til he started wearin’ ‘em. now he wears nothin’ but. if you’re gonna wear high heels, crocs has the cutest comfiest little numbers. feels like walking on sponges. i wear mine everywhere and everyone wants ‘em when they try them on;)
boogie on the basil! mmm! we’re gonna make up a huge batch and throw a bash~
Pesto season coincides with wild blueberry season for us, and together they begin the harvest in earnest. (I love your crocs too…
richard~ i was just on salt spring island on canada’s west coast and the abundance of blueberries was astonishing. pesto pizza and blueberry pie ~ what could be better? enjoy!
